From Almost Mormon to a Ministry of Hope!
We’re excited to share our latest Hope 360 testimony featuring Adam Thomas Dommeyer, founder of Latter-day Sense Evangelism Ministry.
As a teenager, Adam became deeply interested in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He read the Book of Mormon, believed Joseph Smith was a prophet, and came very close to becoming a member of the LDS Church.
But as Adam began wrestling with what he believed and comparing those teachings with the Bible, everything began to change. Eventually, he walked away from Mormonism and gave his life to Jesus Christ.
Today, Adam’s experience has become part of his calling.
He recently launched Latter-day Sense Evangelism Ministry, a ministry with a heart for reaching both current and former Mormons with Biblical truth, compassion, and the hope of Jesus Christ.
One part of our conversation that especially stood out was Adam’s heart for those who leave the LDS Church. For someone who has spent their entire life believing they belong to the one true church, discovering problems with what they’ve been taught can shake the foundation of everything they know.
Where do they go next?
Adam wants his ministry to help provide that “safety net” - walking alongside people who are questioning, hurting, or leaving Mormonism and pointing them toward the hope and grace found in Jesus.
In our conversation, we talk about Adam’s personal journey, Mormonism and Christianity, the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, salvation by grace, difficult questions about faith, and how Christians can lovingly engage with Latter-day Saints without losing compassion for the person in front of them.
Adam’s story is a reminder of something central to Hope 360: God can use the very things we’ve walked through to help bring hope to someone else.
We hope you’ll watch Adam’s testimony, share it with someone who may need it, and join us in praying for Adam as he begins this new ministry.
